For most of our services a rainfall after an application will enhance the effectiveness of the nutrients to get in to the soil. Our products won't "wash away" once they are absorbed by the weed or watered into the soil.
Most of our applications are granular based, yet our liquid weed control products dry within 30min-1 hour. So you can return to your lawn within that time with no worries.
This varies widely and is dependent upon the time of year, and type of soil you have. Generally speaking, In the spring you should water 2 to 3 times per week, totaling 1 to 1-1/2 inches. In the summer or when temperatures are 80 or above you should be watering more frequently. Avoid light watering as this can promote certain disease and fungus issues. Long deep watering is vital for proper root development and growth.
Mowing height should be between 3 ½ to 4 inches. The higher the mowing height, the more water is retained in the grass. Keep mower blades sharp (sharpen once a month). A dull blade shreds the grass instead of cutting it, making it susceptible to disease problems. DO NOT mow when the lawn is dormant from heat stress!!! This will break the grass plant creating damage that is hard to recover from. Also, DO NOT mow during the hottest part of the day. If you have a landscaper doing your mowing, you may want to recommend they come every other week instead of weekly during the hot and dry summer months.
You will get better results if you wait for 24 hours to allow the weed control time to translocate into the plant for the best control. As far as the granular fertilizer, that won't be an issue as most lawn mowers will not pick up the material.
